Whoops, How Did That Happen?

I am sorry Prescott but you have two options now. One is to plead stupidity, the other ignorance. And you are probably better with collective stupidity because, if you go for ignorance, then the question is why could you not see what the rest of us could see. You are politicians, you are suppose to be capable of running a country, but could you really not see what was going to happen when Saddam went to an Iraqi court. Don't now say it is deplorable.

The moment was missed, the moment when it wouldn't have looked simply like vengeance. There is no point wringing hands saying how bad it was. Once the decision was made that Saddam wouldn't stand in front of an international court it was obvious that execution would be the result. And it was obvious that the victors would take their spoils.

No. The result is what Blair and Bush wanted. Unfortunately for them they have discovered that they created a martyr and that their decisions have once again backfired. So now they backtrack. Actually to be fair, little that I like the USA government, at least they are standing by their choice. It is the UK government, Labour, the party that has always said it stands for peoples rights, that is reeling. It was wrong, but at least have the backbone to admit you were wrong, the act of surprise is not credible.

And do people still believe in this government, in Blair? In those that have made spin a brand of their own? How do we sit, and watch, and accept, when we are led with deceivers?

{Again I won't use a picture with this blog}

I believe the alternatives would be worse...

That's the best I can manage.

That's a very sad reason though isn't it. Rather than "we believe in them because..." it is simply that the alternatives would be worse.
